My Best Friends 40th Birthday!! What a night!!

Sorry I know I promised photos from the party but I just haven't had time to scratch myself since being here LOL!! Having a fabulous time cramming in as much as possible while we are here. We just got back from Mt Gambier SA today, so we have now done the Great Ocean Road right through to and into South Australia, we stayed at Mt Gambier and drove back inland this morning stopping at many little towns on the way.

I will show you photo's of our trip mostly likely once I've returned as I have soooo many photos to go through LOL!!

So here we go with the Party!! Happy Birthday Dean!! Dean and I have been best friends since we were 4 (36 years of friendship) He has been there for me always!! I hope we will both celebrate another 40 years together as friends.

Dean's husband Jamie did such a wonder job organising this fantastic party for Dean. We went on a party train out to Drysdale from Queenscliff. Beautiful old steam train, with the carriages rocking the entire way there and back. Everyone dressed in Victorian and how terrific everyone did with their costumes too.

Now many of these photos weren't taken by me, Jerry and Lyndal were taking heaps of photos of the night too and got so many great shots.

This first photo is of Andrew and I, yep that's right we got Andrew in costume LOL!! ssshhh don't tell him I put this up here LOL!! and yes I was freezing but wasn't allowed to put on my big coat until after the photos.

This next photo is Dean, Jamie and Me (now doesn't Jamie look fantastic!! he made his costume himself including the gloves, it was totally amazing!! and I soooo want his boots!!)

I had told Dean not to announce about my birthday as he had said that this was what he was going to do. Didn't matter, he did it anyway LOL!! We do celebrate our birthdays only 3 days apart but it was his night.

We all had the most fantastic time that night even though it was dam freezing cold, think it was like 4 deg but the wind chill was colder.

It was so wonderful to finally meet Dean's friends and put faces to the names finally and get totally spoilt at the same time.

Melbourne trip first few days

Hi everyone

Well we are in Melbourne arrived last Thursday to cold, raining and windy for it to warm up during the day. I think we had 3 seasons in the one day LOL!!

We spent the first few days in Melbourne and stayed at the lovely Hotel Windsor. Very old world hotel but very beautiful indeed. Certainly felt like we didn't belong with all the concierge's, chandliers and posh surroundings. We rocked up in jeans and shirts to check in with everyone looking at us funny LOL!!

Andrew and I walked around Melbourne city, jumped on the red tram to visit the city attractions. We ate at the Cafe on Bourke and OMG!! the food portions down here are huge!! I think I have put on 5kgs since I've been here LOL!!

We checked out the Fitzroy Gardens, Parliment, Queen Victoria Markets, The Old Melbourne Goal and Watchhouse.

Dean and Jamie drove up to Melbourne on Saturday morning to pick Andrew and I up. We went off to get our costumes for Dean's 40th birthday party and then headed back to their place in Geelong. OMG!! they have such a beautiful house. We spent the afternoon relaxing at their place.

Later on Saturday afternoon we were all chatting and I am not sure how the conversation started but we got onto talking about my hair colour. Jamie suggested that I have a lovely red, well I wasn't sure about it to start with but I was put in the chair and my hair got done at 10pm LOL!! no going back now. I LOVE IT!! thank you Jamie, I feel alive again! Jamie has a hair salon in Geelong and is just amazing. Thank you again Jamie.

On Sunday morning Jamie did my hair ready for the party, so I was done early and out of the way LOL!! The Queens needed more time to get dressed, makeup on and everything. I even got spoilt again with Jahi doing my makeup for me, WOW!! he is amazing with makeup.

Check out the beautiful hair style Jamie gave me for the night - the theme of the party was to dress Victorian 1800's.

Now stay tunned for the party photos. I will upload these after we return from doing the Great Ocean Road and SA in about 3 days.

Scrap with V Cyber Crop Challenge

Well I managed to get one more challenge done over at Scrap with V Fabric Frenzy Cyber Crop.

This one is challenge 2 with Kim Kendell.

Kim's criteria was -

Using the following sized pieces of fabric create a LO

1 x 13” x 13”

1 x 10” x 10”

3 pieces 2” x 12”
ribbon to match (optional)
Some fabric in a shade of green to co-ordinate

Now for the twist

NO pattern paper or cardstock to be used (other than as a base to support the fabric There is to be no visible CS/PP showing)
It must have at least 3 handmade fabric flowers and Leaves
Stitching
Journaling block
Bling

this is my take on Kim's challenge

I stuck to the criteria, made my flowers and I even did hand stitching on the layout, the very first time I have hand stitched on a layout. However you can barely see it LOL!! but I did it.

Has been a fantastic Cyber Crop and I can't wait for the next one on the 7th May.

Scrap with V April Cyber Crop Challenges

Another great Cyber Crop over at Scrap with V this month the theme was Fabric Frenzy. Although I don't sew and don't have much in the way of fabrics I did find some from which both Sarah and Shannon had to use for sewing at high school so managed to get some challenges done.

My challenge was a sketch so I have given everyone a sketch from Liz Qualman, I love her sketches.

A2Z Scraplets April Sketch Challenge
