Prima Build-A-Page December Sketch Challenge

Prima have given yet another fantastic Build A Page sketch challenge this month. I managed to get it done just in time after all the computer and internet issues we have had leading up to Christmas.

This is the sketch for December at Prima - click on the sketch image below to check out the inspiration from the Prima Design Team for their takes on the sketch.
This is my take on the sketch, very different colours for me this month but pretty happy with the finished layout. This month I have used everything Prima, no cardstock added for a change LOL!! click on my layout below to drop over to the Prima Gallery to see all the beautiful entries this month, including a number of very talented Aussie ladies.

My layout is about my eldest daughter Sarah who has just turned 18. Her nickname in Kindy was Sare-Bear and this has stuck with her through the years however it's been shortened to just Sare.

Have a great day!!

Recent OTP projects for gifts

Well Christmas is fast approaching us with little time left, gosh where has the time gone??

I have been busy making a number of OTP projects for gifts and secret santa swaps.

Here are a few to share with you.

This frame is much nicer in real life, loads of Prima has been used and I just loved the end result and I'm pretty sure the recipient was delighted when she received it. I made it from scratch using collections elements and cutting out the squares to make them longer.

I made a lovely frame for Chloe's teacher, she was delighted but not sure she is aware that a photo is supposed to be attached as Chloe failed to mention this LOL!! I forgot to take a photo before wrapping the gift but it is the same as the frame I did as a technique for A2Z Scraplets which I have shown here below.

This is a smaller version of the first project, still all pink with loads of prima yet again. I used a Creative Imaginations Bare Elements frame for this one.

I also made this Snow Angel, it was a Creative Imaginations kit. I had so much troubles with this one LOL!! their instructions weren't very clear but it still turned out quite nice I think.

This stand up frame was another Secret Santa pressie I did this year. I made a few of these last year, I really love it so I did another this year for SS pressie.

Sarah joined in the SWV Secret Santa swap this year and I helped her to make this lovely notebook cover. I had designed these a few years ago for a cyber crop and Sarah loved the look of these so this is what she made for her SS. Made from felt, ribbons, petaloo flower, prima bling, green tara flower, glitter, crystal brad. Machine stitched and then notebook (which can be replaced) slides inside the cover.

Until next time

Scrap with V Cyber Crop Challenges

Wow!! What a fantastic weekend and the mystery challenge was soooo funny and fun!! Jodi and the ladies really let loose and it was a fantastic night had by all. Thanks for a really fun Mystery challenge Jodi.

All the challenges for the Crystal Christmas Cyber Crop were fantastic and I really enjoyed every one of them.

Believe it or not I actually managed to get them all done this time WOO HOO!! and I stuck with the theme of gold, white and silver for the Crystal Christmas.

Here are my takes on each of the challenges

Challenge 1 with Millie - favourite thing at Christmas time

Mine being that we purchase a new ornament for the tree each year and decorate it, then trim the tree as a family. This is a tradition we have.

Challenge 2 with KylieJ - using acetate creatively, only using 1 Christmas Patterned Paper and the rest need to be non Christmas.

I did my layout on A4 acetate, punched down the right side with a fiskars border punch, then underneath punched the same border in silver card. These are both on white shimmer cardstock. Then I cut out the flourishes from a Creative Imaginations transparency sheet, used kindy glitz (silver) over the flourishes. My 1 piece of Christmas paper is the writing and the other is Creative Imaginations Radiance Collection (non Christmas). Used Prima flower vine which I used silver Kindy Glitz over, added silver bead sprays to the vine.

this layout is for Sarah's album

Card Challenge with Kim - was hard taking the photo due to the shimmer white and silver.

Sketch Challenge with Tina
And of course the fabulous Mystery Challenge with Jodi Dolbel - this was so much fun thanks again Jodi.

There is still time to get the challenges done over at Scrap with V. Uploading finishes at midnight Saturday night and then voting will commence.

Go check it out and check out all the beautiful layouts in the gallery for the Cyber Crop.

Thanks again ladies for another wonderful Cyber Crop.

Sarah's Formal my baby is all grown up

Today was such a busy day, Sarah took off early to have her hair done and her make-up, taking my car so her make-up wouldn't melt on the way home (air-con LOL!!).

Sarah arrived home at 3pm this afternoon and slipped into her dress with a bit of help LOL!!

The fabulous car arrived at 3.30pm ready to take the girls off to the formal. thank you so much DebbieK and Shane for the beautiful car. WOW!! what a car!!

Sarah's friends Mel and Sam arrived shortly after 3.30pm and Henry arrived shortly after and got into his formal gear from last year so he could have photos taken with Sarah. Unfortunately Henry wasn't allowed to go to the formal as they don't allow outsiders. He is patiently waiting here with us tonight for her to come home.

The girls then went to the park for photos before heading off to the formal. Thank you Shane for being so patient with us while making you drive your car here there and everywhere for photos LOL!!

here are a few photos to share with you. All 3 girls look so beautiful and grown up.

Many more photos taken, have shared just a few but no doubt there will be layouts coming LOL!!

Can't wait till she gets home and tells me all about her big night.

Featured on Prima Blog

I went over to Prima blog today to find the winner of the October sketch, congratulations to Teresa Manchas.

On scrolling down I found that my layout has been featured with a lovely comment along with many other beautiful layouts.

Here is my layout entered for the Prima Sketch for October.

I used 2 different ranges of Prima Patterned papers being "Indeed Collection" and "Paradise City Collection" together with the beautiful big butterfly and roses which I pulled apart as these were the only Prima flowers I had in my stash. I hated pulling the beautiful roses apart but needed to so I could get the different sizes to fit in with the prima vine, then for the title I used a Prima transparency and cut the title out "Beautimus" meaning beautiful, oh and I can't forget the Prima flourish I printed out onto transparency for under the flowers, these are fantastic cd's from Prima.

Click on my layout above to head over to the Prima Blog to see the winners layout and the other featured layouts. Amazing layouts there that's for sure.
