Sunshine Coast Scrappy Weekend Away

We weren't able to go to the Gunnedah Retreat this weekend due to my DH being transferred to another branch with work. There was no way he could get time off with the change. So Annette and I decided to head up the coast and take the girls with us for a scrappy weekend.

The weather was perfect right up until Thursday night LOL!! It started pouring rain at about midnight and rained all day on Friday. We didn't let that get in our way though we were still going.

We stayed at the beautiful Shearwater Resort right on the beach at Kings Beach Caloundra. This is where we go for the Scrap with V retreats each year, just the most perfect place and the accommodation is top notch too.

Saturday turned out to be a glorious day and my beautiful friend Julie came up for the day with Corey and his friend Brooke.

We took a lovely stroll along the rocks at Kings Beach right around to Shelly Beach. The tide was out a long way which gave us heaps of room to walk the rocks. Was so lovely and something I had never done in all the years I've been going up there.

At lunch we grabbed some fish n chips and sat on the grass near the beach, Julie's niece came down with her beautiful little girl Serenity, such a cutie might I add.

Annette and I got plenty of scrapping done and was able to take time out to enjoy what was around us. The girls had a ball, loving the heated pool and spa oh and the games room LOL!!

Here are some photos to share with you of our weekend away

This was the view from our balcony on Friday when we arrived. Pretty gloomy and wet.

Dusk on Friday night, was really beautiful even though it was raining

The Beach on Saturday morning

Julie came up on Saturday with Corey and his friend Brooke, was such a lovely day and we finally got to catch up and what a day for it too, just beautiful.

Walking the rocks from Kings Beach to Shelly Beach, pic of Shannon, Brooke, Corey and Chloe

Crab I saw while walking the rocks, Shannon came bolting up beside me and I told her to stop cause of the crab, I want to get a pic and she jumped and screamed LOL!! poor crab got scared and headed under the rock. He was the most beautiful colour of green.

my beautiful friend Julie and her boy Corey taking a little time out on the rocks

Chloe sitting on the rocks, you can see the Glass House Mountains in the background behind her.

Chloe was loving climbing all the rocks, was a great opportunity for photos

Shannon sitting in a rock hollow, made a beautiful photo

almost around to Shelly beach, some beautiful views to take in on the way

finally made it around to Shelly beach, the kids sat on the rock ledge to soak up the view around them.

we then headed back to Kings Beach back over the rocks. Once back there we sat and waited for a few extra's to join us for lunch. Pic below is Julie, Brooke, Corey and Shannon. Chloe was running through the fountain behind LOL!!

Once everyone arrived we sat and enjoyed some fish n chips on the grass. Pic of Julie and her niece Serenity, such a cutie.

Sunday lunch time we headed over to the beach again just before leaving. The girls had a go on the Bungie trampolines.

Shannon on the bungine tramp doing flips

Chloe on the bungie tramp, not game enough to try doing flips LOL!!

One last quick look at the beach before we headed back home again.

Now believe it or not, we did actually get some scrapping done but you will see the layouts in posts following.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap with V Cyber Crop - Vintage

What a fabulous Cyber Crop we had at Scrap with V way out of my comfort zone but loved every challenge. Didn't think I had any vintage photos to start with and starting scrapping some photos from Sarah's france trip earlier in the year then realised DUH!! I went to a Victorian fancy dress party in Melbourne back in May LOL!! I got the photos out of Dean's 40th Birthday changed them to sepia and now have scrapped them for my album.

Challenge 1 was a fantastic challenge with Jodi being a inspirational scraplift this was make take on the challenge. thoroughly loved doing this layout and really do like how it turned out even though it's not very vintage looking LOL!!

Then there was challenge 2 with Phillipa giving us a challenge 54321
we had to have 5 patterned papers
4 flowers
3 chipboard pieces
2 ribbons
1 material
this was a fabulous challenge
Photo of Andrew and I dressed Victorian standing beside the old steam train that took us up to Drysdale for the party. (the train was the party train old style LOL!!)
I didn't have any material so I cut up an old (clean LOL!!) handkerchief and inked it LOL!!

Challenge 3 was a card challenge with Tarrah having to to keep with the Vintage theme we needed to have 1 or more birdcages and sheet music

Now there was a really good joke in the Bingo game on the Friday night which I put into the words. I really can't repeat here but it's to do with Boots LOL!!

After this and the surprise everyone had with that I just had to include a boot on my card LOL!!

Challenge 4 was a fantastic sketch challenge by Millie (Annette Gearside)
this was my take on the sketch
once again using photos from the Victorian theme party we went to earlier in the year
the top photo is of Dean (my best friend), Jamie (Dean's partner in drag) and I
and the 2nd photo is my darling hubby Andrew and I in costume.

for the scallop edge on the sketch I used white lace which I tea died

Then we had a Blind Mystery Challenge with Kim which was excellent too however I think I did a few things wrong LOL!! but I do like the end result though
Photo of my best friend Dean and his partner Jamie (who makes a stunning woman)
and there is that boot again LOL!! had to add the boot not just because of Bingo but Jamie wore the most amazing pair of boots that night.

Now last month and this month we have added ATC challenge where the winner receives all the ATC's from the challenge. Am so loving the ATC's right now even though it takes longer than a layout LOL!! this is only the 2nd ATC I've ever done.

Now I can't forget Sarah. My sweet 18 year old daughter participated in this Cyber Crop. It was so lovely to have her with me that weekend working on our challenges and I think she did a fabulous job too considering she hasn't scrapped for sometime.

Here are Sarah's layouts for the Cyber Crop Challenges

Challenge 1 with Jodi

Challenge 2 with Phillipa - 54321

Card Challenge

ATC Challenge

Isn't Sarah's layouts just fantastic!!
