Cards to Share

Today I found cards I made awhile ago now could even be a good 12 months ago. I really got into making these and I was truly inspired by the lovely Brigitte Grant and her stunning cards.

Now I am no cardie that's for sure but I really did enjoy making these cards, I don't remember the paper range, think some of it was Kaiser Sakura range but the others I don't remember.

Anyway, I thought I should share these as I am very happy with how they turned out. I did have more but have used them :)

Sad News to share

As many of you might already know, I have sold Scrap with V and the shop has moved on to it's new premises this morning.

It was a hard decision but one I had to make. With all the changes in family life, working a new job, 3 teenage daughters and a husband who works 72 hours a week and a business on top, something had to give and unfortunately it was my baby - Scrap with V.

Chocked full of flu this past week and feeling so very crappy, I managed to get the shop packed up and loaded into the pod ready to head off this morning. I ended up having to call on Annette to give me a hand in getting it finished as I was just so darn sick, it took all my effort. Thank you so much Annette for all your help.
and thank goodness this will be the last time ever I need to pack it up again LOL!!

I am really going to miss the store. Has been such great fun. All the lovely ladies I've met over the years, retreats we've all had fun at. I have really enjoyed this but sadly it was time for me to say goodbye.

I am really looking forward to being able to scrap for me again, keeping the frienships that have flourished and spend more time with my family too.

You will really love the new owner of Scrap with V, Julianne (Jules the Bling Princess) is really lovely and I know she will keep my baby going well.

I would really like to thank everyone, all the Design Team girls over all the years for all their support, frienship and encouragement. It has been such a pleasure working with everyone and to all my customers too who I have built great friendships with even though we've never met face to face. Thank you everyone!!

So proud of my baby

Chloe has only been learning the guitar for a very short time, only since changing schools in March. Chloe wasn't expected to participate in the concert as she had only been learning such a short time but Chloe was determined to be part of the concert and did so well. I am so proud of my baby.

The concert tonight was a little concert put on for the parents of what the kids have been learning so far. Just certain cords but also singing along with it, songs written by Mr Gagen to make it more fun while learning these cords.

Mr Gagen is such a wonderful teacher, making learning music so much fun!! I wish Mr Gagen was around when I was young and learning to play the keyboard maybe I would have stuck with it.

The kids had such a great time tonight and so did the parents. The place was packed out with parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters.

I couldn't get a decent photo of the entire group playing but Mr Gagen was kind enough to have his photo taken with Chloe after the concert.

A2Z Scraplets New Release

April/May new release Scraplets

I had 2 Scraplets to work with and these are my creations using them

New release title - Angel with Attitude

Photo of Shannon. Here I have used Harmonie Patterned Paper for the background with white cardstock, I cut out the middle of the patterned paper to use throughout the layout. Stamped transparency flourishes and printed transparency frame, Prima leaves, Kaiser roses and Prima flower, punched out butterflies using Martha Stewart butterfly punches (2 sizes). Scraplet title has been inked.

New release title - Sunshine Coast

Photos taken at Dicky Beach Caloundra January 2011 with the Dicky Shipwreck.

Here I have used scraps from my stash being 2 half papers, one being Rouge de Garance and the other Creative Imaginations Scallop edge Die Cut paper. Cut out shells from another Creative Imaginations range of beach papers, frangipani flower, Kaiser rose, pearls, pom pom ribbon, stamped journal spot and A2Z Scraplet title which I have inked in 2 colours.

Here I have used Echo Park Patterned paper and border sticker, cardstock and WOW (Words or Whatever) chipboard title and flourish which I have cut. Roses which I have pulled apart the layers so I had more flowers LOL!!, tiny alpha stickers and kaiser pearls.

Shannon Cake Assessment Task

Hi everyone

Well I thought I would share this as I am so proud of my girl Shannon

Shannon had a Hospitality Assessment Task at School which was "decorating a Easter cake that could be sold in a Bakery" a few weeks back where she had to make a cake at home, then completely decorate it at school, making all the icing, mock cream etc at school as part of the assessment task.

They had a list of what they could and couldn't use on the cake which made it hard. Only 3 bought lollies were allowed to be used. Had to use Royal Icing, Mock Cream and Butter Icing were just a few on the list.

So the Royal Icing was made into the cheeks, eyes, nose (with colouring) and teeth, we bought the licorice for the whiskers and eye balls (used my ring to cut the eye balls LOL!!)

We made a normal butter cake, one being a round tin and another slab tin, which we then cut the ears and pieced together onto her stand, cutting the round cake in half ready for the mock cream filling.

Well she topped the class with her effort, and wow!! did it taste great too. Had to make sure it made it home in 1 piece so I could get photos before it got gobbled up LOL!!

Isn't her bunny cake so cute?? I think she did a fantastic job of her cake.
Was very yummy too LOL!!

the licorice was in a roll so she had troubles getting it to sit right on her bunny's face but hey as long as it tastes good right LOL!!

A little bit about me

My name is Vanessa but everyone calls me Ness. I'm 40 years young and live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I live with my husband, Andrew (happily married for 20 years) and our 3 girls - Sarah 19, Shannon 15 and Chloe 12. I love them to bits!

I am definitely a girly-girl and love to have fun just being myself (crazy at times LOL!!). I have had a love for arts and crafts for as long as I can remember. Have tried almost everything over the time but have found that Scrapbooking is my passion. I started scrapbooking in 2001. I am thankful I have a very understanding and wonderful husband, and girls who support my passion. My girls are almost always my main scrapping subject. I have spread out into designing sketches and now designing for Let's Capture these Sketches and I am loving it.

This is my take on the sketch

Once again, using up alot of my older stash, I have used Creative Imaginations Patterned Paper for the backing, Making Memories due cut artisan shape, Glitz designs 12" rubon for the mesh look, I ripped the rub-on before adhering, then I used an ink pad and gently over the top. Prima flowers, acetate flourishes ribbon and scraps of Prima paper, Provo Craft mini stickers and American Crafts thickers.

Photos are of Sarah strolling along Shelley Beach just after the floods this year.

Here I have used lots from my older stash. Creative Imaginations die cut patterned paper, Doodlebug spot patterned paper for the backing and behind photos, Creative Imaginations strip phrases sticker sheet, strip of Basic Grey PP, glitter ribbon which didn't stick to well LOL!! acetate bird and 3d stickers for the embellishments and title.

This post is a little late due to moving house. The move has now happened and the unpacking has started and do you think I can find anything after all the organisation with packing everything, it's all gone here there and everywhere and the things we need now are at the very back of the pod shipping container LOL!! typical hey!

Loved this sketch. This is my take on the sketch
I have been trying to use up stuff from my stash without buying anymore for the moment, less to move LOL!!
I have used Websters patterned papers together with Prima flowers, butterfly and bling and Creative Imaginations ribbon "Lasting Memories".

The photo is of me when I was 20 just before Andrew and I got married (going back a long time now)

A2Z Scraplets more releases for February

this is totally different for me, I have tried lots of white space with this layout using up some scraps of Prima from my stash.

here I have used very old paper from my stash LOL!! love this paper though along with KI Memories die cut paper which I have painted, Petaloo felt flowers. Photo is of the girls at Shelley Beach Caloundra January this year.

Our new house!!

Well it's been a long time coming and we are finally getting out of the rental loop!!

We are moving yet again however this time it's for our own home YAY!!
This will be the last ever move, I swear I am going to rot in this place LOL!!

Here is our new home, we move in on 10th March.

Lots of packing to get done, we have already started but we haven't even really scratched the surface yet. The shop is going to be the biggest part ARGHHH!! so not looking forward to that part LOL!!

This move means a new area, we are moving suburbs and Chloe will be changing schools which she was dreading but now has got used to the idea.

I am so looking forward to being in our own home.

Scrapbudz Challenges - Guest DT for February

Well this is pretty exciting for me, I was asked by the lovely Eve at Scrapbudz to be Guest Designer for February. Thank you Eve!!

I loved their challenges this month, you should head over for challenges that are a little different
Below are the challenges and my takes on each one

First is my take on the sketch challenge
Best Friends - photos of Chloe and her best friend Jessie
these girls are joined at the hip LOL!!

Using up more of my older stash I have mixed new Prima with older Prima papers
petaloo flowers and butterfly, Prima flourishes and Green Tara puffy ribbon
and American Craft glitter alphabet

This is the sketch designed by Moma

The next challenge is the Inspiration Challenge, had fun with this one

Again using up much older stash for this layout but worked perfectly with the photos that I had of my beautiful niece Stevie.

Not sure what the black and white paper was (no name), Bo Bunny spot paper
Prima journal spot, prima flowers, ribbon and another Prima bling flourish and a A2Z Scraplet title "Pretty" which I have inked black.

I forgot to journal prior to taking the photo of this layout LOL!!
these are photos that Stevie took of herself after her best freind Liz died her hair, Stevie's new do the smaller photo was prior and then the after photo.

this next challenge is the Latte & Cream Challenge
given an image below and using Cream or Latte as base colour for layout then adding in the colours from the image supplied. This was great and loved the outcome.

Using up all these older papers in my stash, I think these I bought from Creative Memories a while back and finally have used some of them LOL!! along with a doily, Prima flower and Petaloo felt flowers, Green Tara leaves, Prima pearl leaf and American Crafts chipboard glitter alphabet for the title.

Well I had been surfing around earlier this week and found this fabulous sketch site

Had a go at sketch #67

using up some of my older stash, used Hambly's printed transparency for this layout
together with cardstock, Green Tara puffy floral ribbon, Petaloo flower, beautiful handmade flower by ChrisW, journal spot and of course A2Z Scraplets title "Fairy Princess" which I cut to fit the word Bread in using American Crafts Thickers. I inked and glittered the A2Z Scraplet title to match the thickers and painted the fairy and glittered her wing and wand

Sarah loves fairy bread, how good is it for a kids party!! Think the teens and adults had more of the fairy bread at Charlie's party than the little one's had LOL!!

More Holiday photos novel to share LOL!!

Well after all the rain and local flooding up the coast while we were there, we did end up getting 3 days of sunshine, glorious sunshine.

We spent a number of days inside watching the horror on the news of the flooding in Toowoomba, Grantham, Ipswich and my home of Brisbane. The devastation was shocking to watch and my heart goes out to everyone affected by the floods in Queensland. Our place was so lucky, the closest we had was that Albany Creek and Cash's Crossing (don't ever remember Cash's Crossing doing this ever) broke their banks and cutting the roads into Albany Creek at one end and out of Albany Creek at the other end.

A number of friends have been badly affected by the Brisbane floods one of which who lived on the Brisbane River in their boat, however they are safe and sound. While I am not able to physically able to help with the recovery due to having no immunity, we have come home to go through our clothes and are donating loads of clothing, bedding and more, along with cash donation. Every little bit has gotta help right?

I would like to thank everyone who has gathered to help with the recovery of Queensland, makes me very proud to be an Aussie. Really is amazing how everyone has come together to help total strangers.

Today I would like to share some more photos from our holiday at Caloundra.

Ok well I've shown you some photos when the weather was quite bad so now it's time for some pics with sunshine YAY!!

The beach and surf packed with people again so we took advantage of the sun and headed down to relax on the beach.

on Friday we took advantage of the great weather again and decided to go for a drive up the Coast further to have a look at all the beaches between Caloundra and Mudjimba.

We started off and drove around the corner to Shelley Beach, this beach I used to love as a kid, I used to find all these full beautiful shells, would spend ages collecting them but now you don't find any of these shells anymore, very sad, more rocks are being exposed and you can now find more sea life. Crabs running for cover from the foam and sludge from the floods.

We then headed up around the head to Dicky Beach. Another beautiful beach at Caloundra, I was pleasantly surprised to see the shells I used to collect from Shelley Beach are now washing up on Dicky Beach.

Andrew and the girls walking the beach.from Dicky Beach we headed up to Currimundi, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and then across to Mudjimba. Mudjimba is where I used to holiday as a teen with my parents. We had a caravan that was permanent at the caravan park there. Going back to the 80's Mudjimba wasn't very well known and was a great spot for the surfies. This is where I learnt to surf with the guys. Was the best beach on the Coast up until Twin Waters built on what was once called the "Northshore" this area is now called Twin Waters and has grown huge. After arriving there I was totally gutted to see that there are now resorts on the front street where once was just a corner store. The caravan park has been halved due to another building on the corner. It's just not the same anymore, has lost all it's character, such a shame. The beach was a mess too, so much erosion and the sand is really awful now.

After this I just wanted to head back to the unit. I am still in shock over Mudjimba.

Andrew decided that we needed to go back to Shelley Beach to see more crabs seeing it was dusk LOL!! Men hey LOL!!

After having fun with the crabs at Shelley Beach we headed back to the unit to relax on the balcony to find we could actually see the moon for the first time during the entire holiday. I am quite proud of my photo, zoomed in you can see the craters.

A few holiday photos to share

Well we left Brisbane on Saturday afternoon to head up the beautiful Sunshine Coast LOL!! we all know it hasn't been sunshine for any amount of time anywhere here in Queensland.

We have a lovely penthouse at the Shearwater Resort. It rained so hard yesterday that the down pipe which comes from the roof of the building drains onto our side balcony. However the drain on the balcony was blocked and the water would drain away creating a lovely swimming pool for the girls LOL!! It did get to a point that we had to call the owners as we couldn't bail it out quick enough to how much was coming down the down pipe.

The girls had a ball though LOL!! They were sliding right across the balcony, much better than the beach LOL!!

You can see how much water was on the balcony and that was even after we were bailing it out.

Kings Beach Surf yesterday (Sunday) the beach was closed due to the massive seas and rips. A few people ignored the loud speaker announcements and continued to swim. Gosh the Surf Life Savers had a hell of a time getting everyone to get out!! Some people are just so daft I tell ya.

This photo below, I zoomed in from the penthouse balcony considering it was pouring rain, the photo makes it look much nicer than it really was LOL!! The photo below was Sunday.

Next few are photo's from today (Monday) we had some short breaks in the rain, just enough time to get down to the beach and take half dozen photos, cover the camera with plastic bag and head back in the rain again LOL!!

last night the park in the photo was completely flooded with kids using their boards sliding all through the park. Was too wet and windy to take camera out on the balcony to take photos.

A month of Birthdays

Talk about a busy month for us, 3 birthdays, Christmas Parties and then Christmas!! Phew!!

Andrew's birthday was just a small do at home, Chloe wanted to make him a cake so she got creative in the kitchen and made him a double chocolate cake with mock cream in the middle and creamy chocolate icing covered with MM's and Clinkers - Andrew's favourites LOL!! He loved it and so did Chloe LOL!!

Yesterday Chloe celebrated her 12th Birthday, we had a family party at home for both Chloe and Sarah. Sarah celebrates her 19th Birthday on Monday but it made it easier to just hold it as 1 party.

Chloe was so very proud of the cake she made for Andrew's birthday and it was yummy too LOL!!
Chloe finally got her wish for her birthday, a handmade guitar from her Poppa Ken. Ken makes guitars and boy he makes them good too. Chloe has been wanting a guitar but it had to be one from Poppa. Look at her face when Poppa gave her the guitar.

Chloe had a vanilla sponge cake for her birthday, here she is making a new wish

Attempting to blow out her candles LOL!! They were one's that re-light LOL!!
Sarah went to Paris earlier this year and loved it. She has been asking for everything to do with Paris since. Granny gave Sarah this Eiffel Tower for her birthday.

Sarah's cake was a chocolate sponge. Sarah also had problems blowing out her candles.

Scrap with V Cyber Crop

The first Cyber Crop on the new Scrap with V Blog was held last weekend, it turned out fantastic, great challenges and a chat area to boot. The first challenge was with Amanda, the challenge was

1 .Scrap a Christmas layout
2. based on a night time activity
3. using NO Christmas themed supplies :)

Challenge 3 was the card challenge with a difference with Chris.

Chris's challenge - I would like you to replace the red with either orange or pink and or replace the green with grey or brown. The gold has to stay and it must be a Christmas card. Please add stitching and stamping on your card too.

this is my take on Chris's challenge, I have used pink and brown, I don't sew so I have hand drawn stitching, stamped onto the white card, gold on the star on the tree and gold bow.

Then there was the Mystery Challenge with Lindy, this was so much fun!!

My pressie arrived from my SS the other day and it's gorgeous!!

Isn't this bag just gorgeous? My SS has painted it with a lovely shimmer paint, covered with gorgeous floral paper (just love, love that paper) and very clever lady has embossed on the flap section.

Last night I quickly made this frame for Chloe's teacher, Mrs Rollo. Mrs Rollo happened to go to Paris and France at the same time Sarah did although they didn't bump into eachother.

Thought Mrs Rollo would like this frame for Christmas, hoping she would put a photo of herself in Paris in this frame.

Princess
using new scraplet shape "Horse & Carriage" and previous release word "Princess" Photo is of my Wedding day 20 years ago LOL!! Oh to be that young again LOL!!

I have used Creative Imaginations Foil die cut patterned paper (IOD Beloved Collection) Bling Cardstock, Green Tara silk & crystal flowers, painted the horse and carriage and kindy glitz over the top like Cinderella's carriage. Netting down the left side of the layout to represent the curtain inside the carriage.

Bedazzled
using new scraplet frame and birdcage. Photo of Shannon ready for her semi formal (yes I have already scrapped this photo but this layout is for her album). Used Bo-Bunny papers and some Prima flowers.

Merry
using new Scraplets banner, Christmas decoration 9 and Christmas tree words 2.

I have used older Creative Imaginations patterned papers from my stash, photos of Sarah decorating herself with the tree decorations. Little string of cute Christmas lights and a Prima vine which I have cut. Have also used liquid pearls on the scraplets together with kindy glitz.

Be Uplifted High Tea Fundraiser

Was invited to a lovely Hats and Heels High Tea on Saturday afternoon for

Be Uplifted fundraiser held at this lovely Cafe called Simply Moor-ish up at Woody Point.

What a lovely afternoon we had. Shannon came along with me, thought it would be a special mother n daughter time even though she ended up being bored LOL!!

All the ladies are so lovely and Angie at Simply Moorish is a delight and the service is fantastic not to mention the food!! YUM!!

Met a number of ladies along with others I already knew, was so lovely to catch up, great prizes given out and OMG!! I actually won best dressed LOL!! Yep, you read that right, me LOL!! However Shannon believes the flowers I won should have been hers considering I was wearing her headband and high heels (that I could hardly walk in might I add LOL!!).

Think I shocked the pants (or skirt I think she was wearing LOL!!) off Annette when she saw me walk through the door with Shannon. Here she was thinking I was going to wear pants and a blouse like I told her but I find a dress in my cupboard and totally shocked her LOL!! Haven't worn this dress in a longggggg time, not since I was working for Accountants anyway LOL!!

Anyway, it was a fabulous afternoon put on by all, thank you so much Be-Uplifted for my first ever High Tea. Can't wait for the next one.

Shannon's Semi Formal photos

Wow what a day!! up bright and early this morning, Shannon actually came and woke me, come on Mum we gotta go shopping for the last bits for the semi LOL!! the only time she will get up on her own accord LOL!!

So we headed up to Strathpine to get the 2nd pair of shoes to go with the 2nd dress LOL!! then got strapless bra, 5 pairs of stockings, dress for the after party LOL!! the card was screaming!!

We got home just before midday and then I did Shannon's nails for her just in time for her to head down to work to have her hair done.

I had to help Shannon get ready, putting her stockings on for her so she wouldn't put holes in them with her new nails and then her dress so not to wreak her new hair do LOL!!

Her dear friend Osman has taken her to the semi this afternoon, his tie matched her dress perfectly.

Here are a few photos to share with you. She really didn't want any photos so her smile isn't the best LOL!!

Shannon was sooo worried about the fact that she was taller she kept bending at the knees, hence why no full shot photos LOL!! Had to crop them down LOL!!

I hope that she has a fabulous night tonight, they are headed to the Kookaburra Queen for the semi and then back out this way for the after party later on.

What a day, been feeling horrible all day, coming down with the flu, managed to fight it off all winter and all it took was for Shannon to have tonsillitis last week and bobs your uncle, now I have it LOL!!

Laying around today I managed to get the Prima BAP Sketch done for October, made a mess of the floor near the couch but oh well LOL!!

Trip to Wivenhoe Dam Photos to share

What a day this was, well afternoon actually. When Sarah got home from work and Chloe's friend Jess left on Sunday, and the fact that Shannon had been at home all week really sick with Tonsillitis we decided to get them out of the house and jump in the car and head out to Wivenhoe Dam to see the gates open, something the girls have never seen in their lives and something Andrew and I haven't seen since we were kids.

We did this trip previously in June 2008 when the dam was way down due to the drought the dams got lower still after then but I have some photos to compare with and WOW!! It was a great afternoon spent as a family and I think everyone else though the same too, cause WOW!! talk about people. There was a traffic jam at Wivenhoe LOL!!

Here are a few of the photos to share with you

from right to left (eldest to youngest) - Sarah, Shannon and Chloe at the Wivenhoe lookout, see they are nice and dry and their hair has been straightened so lovely LOL!! NOT FOR LONG LOL!!
This is the traffic just after we turned off into the road to Wivenhoe Dam LOL!! Traffic Jam!!, we decided to park and walk it cause the traffic was totally stopped for hours. Yep it took an hour to walk to the dam but we ended up beating vehicles who had been sitting for hours in the traffic jam.

so here is Wivenhoe with all it's gates open!! WOW!! what a site and all the spray, certainly needed it to cool off after the long walk.
this is the flow from the spillway. raging torrent now check the next photo which is the comparison back in 2008, soooo very different hey?

hard to believe that this is the same spot right? Look at the photo below and how there is nothing and the photo above you would never believe that there is a cliff.Now for some photos of the girls getting wet from the spray, you can walk out onto a platform and see the spill front on however it was hard to find a spot due to all the people.

So here are the girls with there lovely straightened hair LOL!! not so much anymore hey LOL!! You can see the spray from the spill behind them.

Andrew and Shannon out on the edge of the platform posing for the camera LOL!! look at all the spray LOL!!Ok now we head to the other side of the wall, we also went here back in 2008, standing in a similar spot to take these photos, have a look at the difference. There was hardly anything in 2008 and look at it now.

this is the photo we took back in 2008, of the same area just a little further up on the platform from memory. Huge difference hey.

After seeing Wivenhoe we headed up the road for 20 minutes and took a look at Somerset Dam, unfortunately they closed off the path to go right down to the base of the wall where the spill was, such a shame so this area was the only spot you could see the spill. Not a very good view but still.

And of course Sarah standing in front.

All in all it was a lovely afternoon spent together as a family and the girls seeing something that they have never seen ever before and possibly won't see again for a long time.

It really was amazing to see this again after remembering it from childhood, it's so different. So glad we went.

Scrap with V October Think Pink Cyber Crop

This month the theme was Think Pink, a fundraiser Cyber Crop for those ladies and families suffering from Breast Cancer. All monies raised will be donated to Be-Uplifted Inc.

Fabulous challenges yet again from the Scrap with V Design Team and I actually got them all done this month YAY!!

Challenge 1 with Belinda - Cherish
Here I have used Pink Patterned Paper for the background, Creative Imaginations Beloved Collection Foil Die Cut Patterned Paper, Creative Imaginations 12' sticker sheet for the journal spot, a vine I have handmade from Green Tara Vintage Battik flowers and leaves entwined with the new Green Tara Silver Spray of butterflies. Chipboard chandelier, A2Z Scraplets title - Cherish, stamped acetate, Doily, another set of the new Green Tara Silver Sprays and to finish it off I used a string of pearls

Challenge 2 was the sketch challenge with Phillipa
Have used the lovely new MME patterned papers front the lost and found collection, a few Prima flowers added in there.

Challenge 3 was the card challenge with Belinda
Used Doodlebug patterned paper, stamped acetate, 3d stickers, A2Z Scraplets tiny alpha stickers, Collections Elements butterfly.

ATC Challenge
Scraps used again for this challenge - Creative Imaginations Ooh La La papers, Printed out frame, string of pearls, petaloo flowers and MM metal word - Love.
All the ATC's from this challenge will be auctioned off to the highest bidder to raise funds for the fundraiser Cyber Crop.

this layout I have used lots of scraps from my stash also included some of the New Prima packaging from the alphabets, Prima IOD Journalling which I have cut down and joined together, handmade flowers, bling, 2 hat pins (handmade), American Crafts glitter thickers, A2Z Scraplets Chipboard words - Sweet Girl, collections butterflies, Craft Queen ribbon.

This is my take on the sketch

I have used some of my older stash for this layout, Patterned Papers are Rusty Pickle Pirate Princess I think, I have used dimensional magic on the hearts, cut the roses and 3d. Have used A2Z Scraplets Corner 23 which i have cut and turned over to suit my layout, I then inked with shimmer, have also used A2Z Scraplets "Love" word for the title, have inked the title with a number of different inks to get the colour.

another OTP project to share

Well I got this cute little Twiddleybitz chipboard mini Birdcage on a stand. I sat and made this one, didn't take long and I love how it's turned out. It's so cute!

These birdcages on a stand come ready to assemble, in like a flat pack you could say LOL!! I painted it all first, then glued as I put it together.
I used a Prima vine from my stash which I cut to suit the stand and cage
I added a cute little 3d butterfly
for the nest I used some netting ribbon from Finishing Touch Ideas and I shredded it apart, screwed it up and bobs your uncle it's a nest LOL!!

My cute little birdie flew in on Monday and made himself at home.

Stuck on U Sketch for 1 October

Phew!! I didn't think I would get this sketch done but with how wet it is here at the moment and so many roads cut, I got the sketch done this morning.

Now you will see that it is very crooked, doesn't help having the layout on an angle when sticking things down. I didn't realise until I got to doing the title LOL!! OMG!! how bad is that LOL!! was too late to lift it, it was stuck fast considering how much tape and glue I use LOL!! Must be the wet weather LOL!! that's my excuse LOL!!

Anyway, was a great sketch. Here is my take.

Photos are of Shannon and her friend Lisa, mucking around during a sleep over as teenagers do. Have used Bo Bunny Patterend Papers, Kaiser corner rhinestones, American Crafts Thickers.

A2Z Scraplets New Releases

Another month of fabulous new releases at A2Z Scraplets.

Here are just a few that I have done

Julie at A2Z made this title especially for my daughter Shannon after actually hearing Shannon trying to get my attention one day!! Of course she thought it was hilarious!!

Shannon's favourite way to tell me "I love you"

she starts with Mum......... Mum......... Mum....... Mum...Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum until I go WHAT!! LOL!! then in such a sweet voice she says
"I love you"
really melts my heart when she does this.

Scraplets I have used is the Mum, mum, mum title, birdcage and Love word

This layout I have used Websters Patterned Paper, new Prima flowers some roses and A2Z Scraplet title - Daddy's Girls. This photo was taken many years ago when the girls were much younger - going back 7 years, I think Sarah hates me now for using this photo LOL!!

Dry your eyes Princess I tried to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. This layout is also the September Sketch Challenge at Scrap with V, which was designed by Kim Kendell. I couldn't post this layout until the A2Z Scraplets had been released.
This layout looks much nicer IRL.
Poor Sarah so wanted to do ballet but she wanted to do it her way not their way LOL!!

OTP project to share

Well I had no intentions of doing any scrapping let alone an OTP project today LOL!! Was supposed to work and get new kits uploaded to the Scrap with V website today but I went to login to find the sites are finally on the move so I couldn't do anything there today.

I have had this frame out on my table for a little while now, I looked at it from my computer this morning and I really don't know what happened but this is what I ended up with.

Have used new papers from MME - Lost and Found, a little Prima mixed in there too and a chipboard dress form, oh and the lovely new Green Tara silver sprays which I am loving - these can be purchased from Scrap with V once the sites have moved.

I really enjoyed doing this frame for Sarah, she doesn't know about it yet so I will put it aside for her as a little something for her birthday late December.

It is called "Paris J'Adore" which is Paris I adore you.

Scrappin' Silhouettes Sketch #15

This weeks sketch at Scrappin' Silhouettes is a little different. Being week 5 this is a double page sketch. Jennifer has designed the sketch as a double 8.5x11". I have converted into 12x12 for the sketch and 5 photos being the 5th week.

I have used a Patterned Paper I can't remember the name of LOL!!, cardstock, Prima flowers, Prima bling and A2Z Scraplets title.

Photos are of Chloe out in the front yard during the school holidays.

This is my take on the sketch

I used Creative Imaginations Breathless Collection Patterned Papers, Twiddleybitz chandelier that I added some crystal to dangle, A2Z Scraplets title, Prima flower, Green Tara Crystal spray and journal spot. Photos are of Sarah and Shannon. Shannon giving Sarah some sisterly loving on Sarah's 18th Birthday 20th December 2009.

loved this sketch at A2Z Scraplets this month. Have been using older stuff from my stash LOL!! think it turned out pretty good.

This was my take on the sketch. Here I have used the A2Z Scraplets Nested Scallop Square which I have cut and the title Smiles. Petaloo felt flowers and some Tiffanys (We are Memory Keepers) patterned papers I think.

Stuck on U Sketches 3rd & 20th September

I have scrapped these photos before but Shannon loved the layout and wanted one for her album so I have used all the photos in the series for Shannon's album and the Stuck on U sketch for 20 September was the perfect double page sketch.

Had a bit of a scrappy day yesterday, managed to get this sketch done to find it was closed already LOL!! oh well, I did enjoy it and have another lovely layout from it. My arm is killing me though but feel better for getting some scrapping done.

This is my take on the Stuck on U sketch for the 3rd September
here I have used some of the new Prima - Fairy Flora Patterned Paper, flowers mini vines (Sarah's favourite flower being the sunflower), viola, Green Tara flowers, Prima bling, used a scrap of Prima behind the photos and A2Z Scraplets for the title which I have used Twinklings H2O for the colour.

Scrap with V Cyber Crop - Travel

Scrap with V had their Cyber Crop with the theme of Travel for September.

I really wanted to get a heap of scrapping done of our trip to Melbourne earlier in the year but with having teeth pulled and problems happening after that and then injuring my arm as well I haven't done a great deal of scrapping at all :0( Going into withdrawals LOL!! I did manage to get a couple of challenges done for the Cyber Crop.

The ATC Challenge was set by me, my challenge was that you had to use a landmark, postage stamp or postage mark and a quote.

This was my ATC

I also set the kids Layout Challenge, however this month I did it a little different by designing the kids a very basic sketch for their challenge, which they thoroughly enjoyed and they did such a fantastic job with it.

They also needed to have a map on their layout and a sign with a photo of themselves on their travels/holidays.

This was the card challenge with the very talented Annette Gearside, the criteria for the card was to make a ‘bon voyage’ card featuring a form of transport and to use rub-ons.

This layout was for Challenge 1 with Tarrah, the criteria was to use a map, luggage tags, and a piece of memorabilia. This was my take on the challenge

Photos are of Andrew's and my trip to Melbourne back in May, we drove The Great Ocean Road and although it was very wet and cold it was so very beautiful.

Challenge 4 was the Sketch challenge with Kylie Symons. Loved doing this sketch, first time I've used a banner LOL!! and LOOK!! NO FLOWERS LOL!!

Again this was photos from our trip to Melbourne back in May. This was the city however and where we stayed at the beautiful grand Windsor Hotel.
